2018 SFA Documentary Video Workshop

In 2018 Lowrey led the annual week-long Southern Foodways Alliance Documentary Video workshop at the University of Mississippi’s Center for the Study of Southern Culture in Oxford, MS. Workshop students spent the week learning methods and approaches to video documentary storytelling and an intro to digital filmmaking. In addition, they were divided into crews and assigned a short video to complete by the workshop’s end. 2018’s workshop projects centered around Chicory Market along with two of the market’s vendors – Home Place Pastures and Native Son Farm.
